The Long Wait....

So we had picked our dog! Due to her being a rescue there was very little known about her. All we knew was that she was roughly 2 years old, was nervous but friendly and had been found in an abandoned house with her four puppies. I had to have her! Next up was the Home Check.

The Home Check 

A home check is really self- explanatory.... They do a check of your house to make sure that the house is suitable for a dog. Simple right? Then why was I so nervous!! What happens if the garden wasn't big enough, the fence not tall enough.

The day of the home check arrives! Due to high demand our home check was carried out via Facetime. So me and my boyfriend are sitting on the couch watching the seconds go by on the clock. It was 2.59pm. One minute to go! I sat there nervous and sweating. What if I say something wrong or if they don't like my answers?.... Turns out I worried for nothing. The woman who carried out our home check was really  friendly and everything went smoothly. A couple of days later we received a message... We had passed our home check with flying colours. Our family had grown by 1.  

Supplies

We had to stock up on everything we would need for our new addition so one Sunday we headed off on a mission! First things first. She would need a bed...or in our case...5! We bought all the other essentials like bowls, collar, lead and food. We knew that she had has a rough start in life so we wanted to spoil her. She more than deserved it. So we bought a mix of different toys but then came a dilemma. Squeaky toys.... Yes or No? On the one had they are fun for the dog but on the other hand they are so unbelievably annoying that you want to rip off your own ears. In the end we bought mostly squeaky toys. Did we come to regret that decision? Of course!
